How about a visit to the Wilmington Railroad Museum?
The Wilmington Railroad Museum has an eclectic collection of displays that are fun and educational.
On the FUN side are a Thomas the Tank Train play area, operating HO and O scale trains, and a real life-size caboose and steam locomotive.
Educationally, we trace the development of railroads in the Wilmington area as well as the careers of famous people who were involved with railroads, such as Thomas Edison and George Pullman
This year make someone’s special day lots of fun by celebrating a birthday at the Wilmington Railroad Museum. Your party package includes the rental of a real Atlantic Coast Line caboose (non-airconditioned - as they were on the railroad) for 1½ hours, plastic train whistles and paper engineer's caps for each child, a special surprise for the birthday child, and free admission to the Museum for up to 25 children and adults. Participants provide food and beverages.
Available party times are Monday to Saturday from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, and Sunday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
For the first ten children and ten adults the price is $100. Museum members receive a special discount price of only $65. Above the basic ten children or adults, an additional charge of $2 per person applies.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED: Parties must be scheduled two weeks in advance by calling 910-763-2634. A $10 non-refundable deposit is required to confirm reservations.
Remember, the children must be accompanied at all times by an adult in all areas of the museum, inside or outside.
